| What Daisy had to say to Demonbeach--- I got into all this rockabilly shit for a couple of reasons,
1) because I thought it sounded cool and 2) because my friends hated it.
Then when after I had listened to it for a while, I realized how lame most
of the fuckin' rockabillies loved to play dress up and fuckin' play the damn
hot rod pretention game, it bacame a little silly to me and I relized what I
reallly love is just good rock of any sort and the more people who put it
down the more I liked it. I like kickin' ass songs and if the word fuck is
in it or they curse a lot, even better. And if I can wear my leather jacket
and scream the fuckin lyrics real loud & exchange punches with my best
friend while listening to it ( whether it's creepy country style,
punk-a-billy, punk rock, drunk-a-billy, pub rock,
Gene-Vncent-fuck-your-daughter or 50's punk) it rules. And I can go to sleep
at night, knowing I'm the only girl on my college campus knowing who owns or
knows what a Jack Black cd is. As far as The Rock N Roll Truckstop Magazine & the website for it is concerned, I fuckin' hate it actually, and I don't like the idea of journalism (the word journalism itself reminds me of tubby guys named Ed with glasses sayin' stuff like "So who is your biggest influences" and "Hey man, I got the cd and I thought that....*pointless points of view...*". I guess that's why The RNRT is a little different. We love music.I don't like telling you what you should like and we don't care what everyone WANTS to know about the bands (technical bs, influences...) - not that we never ask those questions, however, I much prefer to know if they read comic books, or if Deke Dickerson likes monkeys and what kind or what Rene from Blanks 77 got for christmas. Shit like that. I think the bands don't always feel like answering the same questions. On top of that, I don't do stories on why deoderant is bad or why you shouldn't eat meat, who fuckin' cares.We don't think anybody cares who we've met, there's not any of the "me & the band pictures"...There are pictures of us, that's just cause we're egotistical, and we think that we have fans like bands do...."think" being the keyword here. I see a lot of girls who do zines though who use it as a format to say who is cute and what boys they like and that nonsense, but well... band guys lead fucked up lives a lot, and I don't wanna jump in the sack with an interview. We say a whole bunch of stupid shit on the website & I guess it can be a good place to check out if you wanna hear why we hate each other at the time or what we think is cool for a moment or if you're like us and need to find yet another thing to pick apart to decide if you think the people running something are full of shit or not. |
